Lovely Spring Walk

Susan, Montana and I took a brisk two hour walk yesterday through the Black River County Park Trails, www.morrisparks.net. We started from the parking lot at the Kay Environmental Center off of Pottersville Road in Chester. We followed the red trail most of the time except for one foray down the hill to the river. (The dog needed a drink.) It was a beautiful park. The red trail stayed close to the Black River most of the time. I would recommend another outing here to check out the blue trail before biking season gets into full swing.

Happy trails.

The Green Mountain State

I slipped into the state of Vermont for this Sunday's walk.

I was an army of one but I had nothing to fear but fear itself. And maybe the a-hole up at Blairsden who treated me like I was a Mideast terrorist come to rape his women and pillage his Somerset Hills hideaway. Ah, how money and property corrupt.

I told him where to shove it, but when I tried to take his photo, the coward threatened to call the Gestapo.

I reluctantly put away my trusty canon and walked on. In peace.

Another Sunday Stroll

We had a grand total of four strollers for last Sunday's chilly walk at Christy Hoffman park. Nevertheless, a fine time was had by all as we traversed mud and muck, outwitted a pack of blood-thirsty wolves, and made a mad dash for safety when evildoers attempted to kidnap us for a short journey to a faraway place.

We'll do it again this Sunday. Time, for Heather, who undoubtedly will not show, is 1:30. The place: Natirar. This will be an easy, flat, one hour stroll. It may be a tad wet but the skies should be clear and the weather cool. Bring the kids, the canines, and the weed.

Sunday Hike

Sunday looks like a spectacular late winter day.

I'm going to take a hike up at Fairmount Park in Tewksbury. I think they also call it Christy Hoffman Park. It's on 512 (W. Fairmount Rd.) between Pottersville and Califon. Call me (234-9383) if you need further directions.

1 pm. Probably around an hour, hour and a half. It might be a little mucky after the rain so wear boots. Kids and dogs welcome, tho it'll be tough to push a stroller.

Hope to see you Sunday.
