Susan, Montana and I took a brisk two hour walk yesterday through the Black River County Park Trails, www.morrisparks.net. We started from the parking lot at the Kay Environmental Center off of Pottersville Road in Chester. We followed the red trail most of the time except for one foray down the hill to the river. (The dog needed a drink.) It was a beautiful park. The red trail stayed close to the Black River most of the time. I would recommend another outing here to check out the blue trail before biking season gets into full swing.
Happy trails.

what about a post ahead of time so we know you're going?
that is great walking back there. did you get down to the old chubb watering hole and swim house?
Uh oh, also guilty of an impromptu and un-posted hike, or two. We took Darla to the same neighborhood (Hacklebarney) on Saturday… and then over to the Cross Estate in Bernardsville yesterday. Both offered stimulating hilly terrain for us and plenty of swimming/drinking opportunities for the Animal. This past month was tough on the timber - trees were across the trails everywhere.
Promise to make plans ahead of time next week.
And, who said biking season hasn’t begun? Wednesday, 5:30, be there!
